The Mai Chau 1 day tour offers you the best experiences to explore the surroundings and rice fields of Mai Chau by bike, try the local traditional food of Thai ethnic people, and learn about their culture and daily lives. The trip also lets you explore the Thung Khe pass – one of the most beautiful passes in Northern Vietnam, and the local market of Muong ethnic people. There are surely a lot of photo opportunities and fantastic experiences!
Meet your guide at your hotel at 7.30 AM. Start your Mai Chau 1 day tour with a 3.5-hour drive to the town of Mai Chau. It is a great chance for you on the way to enjoy the breath-taking scenery and the up and down roads typical of the mountainous areas in Northern Vietnam.
Stop at a local market of the Muong ethnic people on Thung Khe Pass – one of the 10 most beautiful passes in Vietnam. Take a stroll to visit the market and talk with the local people. There are also a lot of photo opportunities for you with the breath-taking landscape and the panoramic view down to the valley where the Muong people settle their villages.
Arrive in Mai Chau valley at lunchtime. Enjoy your mouth-watering lunch at a local stilt house and learn about the interesting food culture of Thai people here.
After lunch, take a short rest then cycle to explore the nature and people in Mai Chau. You will visit the villages of the Thai ethnic tribes to learn about their daily lives and culture. It is also here that you will witness the special Thai way of weaving – a traditional handicraft of Thai people.
Continue biking around the lush rice fields of Thai people. Finish your exciting cycling trip at a local house with a tea break.
Enjoy the last moments walking around the village before saying goodbye to Mai Chau and get back to Hanoi.

Such a fun day
A fun day to escape from the bustle of Hanoi. Mai Chau is such a real rural area with nice view of landscape and local villages. We highly recommend 2 days to see the area to the fullest.
Long way but worth it
The way from Hanoi to Mai Chau and back was so long, but the whole day was worthy. The beautiful landscape on the way helped us from bore. And we got back our energy when arriving Mai Chau with fresh air and exciting activities.
