Best time to visit: from middle February to middle of Deccember
What to bring: hiking boots; raincoats; insect spray, suncream…etc
This was an epic journey through mountains that were like nothing I’d ever seen! Every day was packed with majestic scenery. The accommodations were simple but superb: rural hospitality, piles of fresh food, and great spirits all around (một, hai, ba. dzô!). Our guide, Minh, takes pride in knowing the history of everywhere we visited. If he is your guide, you will learn a lot!
We traveled many kilometers, and probably some vertically as well (fortunately, we had an expert driver). The scenery was captivating after the first day or two once we got away from Hanoi. There was quite a bit of walking and opportunities for hiking/climbing, but the physical demands were not serious for a person of good health.
Best Travel Company
My husband and I together with our 3 grown kids just finished a great visit of 6 days to wonderful Northern Vietnam. Conical Travel built the itinerary and organized a great trip. The itinerary was tailored-made a little bit for us and was very well organized. All accommodations and guides were good with relatively good English and being highly service oriented. Highly recommend this agency to everyone!

Five of us did this trip with Conical Travel after 10 days in Southern and Middle Vietnam with another company. We have to tell that this trip is the best during our 20 day holiday in Vietnam. Different from the former stage of our holiday which was very crowded, on this trip we had chance to go to hidden rural parts of Vietnam where there are only local and original landscape. We love Ha Giang the best because it was so magnificient with a lot of mighty mountains bordering with China. Our guide Jack was also excellent to show us almost everything from the region that we have never seen or heard before from mass media. Cannot recommend this trip anymore.
Jack, you are incredible. Jack was a fun, knowledgeable guide and he made the trip unforgettable. He listened to our demand and suggestions and always tried to keep us entertained. Love Jack and all the things he showed us on this special trip.
Great company, unique experiences!!!
